Are you insured or bonded?
Honest answer: not yet. I'm a 19-year-old local, not a franchise, so I don't carry commercial insurance. What I offer instead is transparency — a free meet and greet before you commit, photo and text updates at every single visit, local references you can call, and your vet and emergency contacts on file before I ever step onto your property. If you need an insured company, I understand. If you want a farm kid who'll care for your animals like her own, that's me.
What experience do you have with horses and ranch animals?
I've been riding since before I could reach the stirrups, I barrel race, and feeding and mucking have been my daily chores my whole life. I know how to blanket, lunge, and handle turnout safely, and I know what 'off' looks like — if something seems wrong, you and your vet hear from me immediately.
How much does pet sitting cost in New River, AZ?
Drop-in visits start at $20 for small pets like tortoises, reptiles, and birds, $25 for dogs and cats, and $30 for horses and ranch animals. Day rates ($50 to $85) cover multiple visits. Each additional animal adds just $5 to $10 per visit — the whole herd doesn't pay full price twice. Every booking starts with a free meet and greet, and I'll give you an exact quote for big multi-animal households or custom schedules — no surprises.
Do you do overnight stays?
Yes — overnight stays are available for horses, ranch animals, dogs, and cats. I stay on your property so the evening feed, the morning feed, and everything in between happen on your schedule, with someone actually there if a horse goes off its hay at 2 a.m. Overnights are quoted per stay based on your herd and setup — ask at the free meet and greet. If you'd rather book visits, the 85 horse day rate covers a morning and evening visit plus a midday check when needed.
What areas do you serve?
I'm based in New River and cover about a 20-minute radius: Anthem, Desert Hills, Tramonto, Cave Creek, Carefree, Black Canyon City, and North Phoenix. On the fence about distance? Ask — for the right animals I'll stretch a little.
Can you give my pet medication?
Yes — oral meds, supplements, topicals, and eye or ear drops are all part of a normal visit at no extra charge. For anything trickier, like insulin injections, show me your routine at the meet and greet and I'll tell you honestly whether I'm comfortable doing it.
What happens at the free meet and greet?
We meet at your place, I meet the animals, and you walk me through everything: feeding, gates, quirks, hiding spots, vet info. Then I write up a custom care plan so nothing lives only in my head. You get to size me up too — no commitment until you're comfortable.
Will I get updates while I'm away?
Every visit, no exceptions — photos and a quick text: who ate, who's feeling sassy, whether the trough is topped off. You'll never wonder how your animals are doing.
Do you take care of tortoises, reptiles, and birds?
Yes, and it's kind of my specialty — I own a tortoise myself. Small-pet visits include feeding, fresh water, habitat cleaning, and temperature and humidity checks, which matter a lot out here in the high desert.
What happens if there's an emergency with my animal?
Your care plan includes your vet, a backup contact, and your do-what-it-takes preferences, all written down before your trip. If something's wrong, I call you first, then your vet, and I stay with the animal. I'd rather over-communicate than have you find out later.
Do you offer holiday pet sitting?
Yes — Thanksgiving, Christmas, spring break, all of it. Holiday dates book up first and carry a small add-on, so reach out a few weeks early if you can.
