Three visits a day already beats the day rate — the booking wizard applies whichever is cheaper, automatically. Overnight barn stays are available too — quoted per stay at the meet & greet.
Ranch Animal & Livestock Care
Donkeys, mules, goats, chickens, pigs, and cattle checks — headcounts, feed, water tanks, and coop or pen cleaning. If it lives in a pasture or a pen, I've probably fed one like it since before I could drive.
Barn Routines, Your Way
Your feed chart is law. Flakes counted, supplements measured, gates latched in the order you latch them. The care plan we write at the meet & greet means nothing lives only in my head — and nothing changes while you're gone.
From a Rider, Not Just a Sitter
I barrel race and I've been in the saddle my whole life. That matters at feeding time: I know what “off” looks like — a horse standing wrong, ignoring hay, or pacing a fence — and you and your vet hear about it immediately, with photos.
Common Questions About Horse Sitting
Do you do overnight stays?
Yes — overnight stays are available for horses, ranch animals, dogs, and cats. I stay on your property so the evening feed, the morning feed, and everything in between happen on your schedule, with someone actually there if a horse goes off its hay at 2 a.m. Overnights are quoted per stay based on your herd and setup — ask at the free meet and greet. If you'd rather book visits, the 85 horse day rate covers a morning and evening visit plus a midday check when needed.
What experience do you have with horses and ranch animals?
I've been riding since before I could reach the stirrups, I barrel race, and feeding and mucking have been my daily chores my whole life. I know how to blanket, lunge, and handle turnout safely, and I know what 'off' looks like — if something seems wrong, you and your vet hear from me immediately.
What happens if there's an emergency with my animal?
Your care plan includes your vet, a backup contact, and your do-what-it-takes preferences, all written down before your trip. If something's wrong, I call you first, then your vet, and I stay with the animal. I'd rather over-communicate than have you find out later.
Can you handle hot horses or difficult loaders?
Tell me everything at the meet and greet — who's herd-bound, who bites at blanketing, who tests gates. I'll tell you honestly what I'm comfortable handling. Big animals don't rattle me, but honesty about your particular animals keeps everyone safe.
